The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep

Sirens of the Deep is doing two different things at the same time, surprisingly, pretty well: a surface romance about loving across incompatible worlds and underneath that a political allegory where the whole species conflict gets manufactured through resource exploitation and greed. The pearl-diving subplot is my favourite idea and I wish it would have been the more prevalent story line. The animation commits where it counts, some of these fight scenes are very well animated and thus justify the format choice. Where it loses points is the dialogue animation which flattens whenever the action drops away, and a score that i honestly cant remember being there at all. Its a solid film with some pretty cool ideas that doesnt quite stick the landing on everything it reaches for.
