FAQ
What is an Odyssey?
For me, an Odyssey is experiencing a franchise from start to finish in a researched order. Not just one game, one season or one film, but the whole journey across every entry worth experiencing. Each Odyssey has its own page tracking where I am and what I thought along the way.
Why are some reviews short and some long?
Not everything I experience gives me enough to write a full review about. A short excursion into a universe often just doesn't have that much to write about, while a big mainline season or game usually does. For the first kind I use a shorter card version of the review: a verdict, the scores, pros and cons, and a few quick answers, like who it's worth the time for. Not every experience needs a thousand words, but some can't be covered in a paragraph either.
How does the rating system work?
Every piece of media I review gets a score between 0-100 in a variety of categories, depending on its media format. For example an anime gets story, characters, animation, pacing and sound. Meanwhile a game gets performance, story, gameplay, visuals, sound and innovation. The average of those categories is the craft score. Enjoyment is scored separately and is based purely on my subjective, well, enjoyment I felt while experiencing the media. The overall score is simply: (craft + enjoyment) / 2.

How do you decide what to experience next?
During an odyssey I follow my franchise order, the one that gets the most out of everything a world has to offer.
Outside of that I prioritize franchises and universes that I have already invested time into, that generally get good scores from the public, or where I rated earlier entries highly.
When it comes to starting a new odyssey, I have a priority list in most media formats that is curated by myself based on multiple aspects such as ratings and critical acclaim, popularity, runtime and size of the franchise, genres and personal interest.
Do reviews contain spoilers?
Some reviews contain spoilers, some don't. The spoilers themselves are always blurred, so you have to click on them to reveal them.
Where do the trivia and community bits in the reviews come from?
The boxes in the reviews (behind the scenes, fan theory, the community and trivia) are things I dig up after finishing something. They come from the work's TV Tropes pages, from Reddit threads where the community discusses the work, and from YouTube essays I've researched about it. I never copy anything over word for word, I retell what I found and only pick what I think is actually interesting or adds something unique to the review.
Can I suggest something for you to experience?
Of course. Reach out on any of the socials on the about page, preferably Discord. I cant promise I will get to it soon, but every suggestion gets considered.
